Inside The Black kicks off the Sunset Strip Music Festival with Y&T (August 26, 2010)
It was announced today that Inside The Black would help kick off the 2010 Sunset Strip Music Festival with Y&T at the Key Club.
Y&T is a legend of the Sunset Strip. Before Mötley Crüe, before RATT, even before there was a Metallica, Y&T was slogging away in sweaty rock clubs around America. When the band formed in the early 1970s, little did they know they would set the standard for hard rock bands that trailed. Many of the biggest acts of the '80s became popular opening for headliners Y&T—and cut their teeth on the band, as evidenced by the Y&T mentions in tell-all books by acts such as Metallica and Mötley Crüe. After a hiatus, Inside The Black returns to the live stage tonight at Skinny's Lounge in North Hollywood, CA. In addition to destroying some cuts off their debut album, they will be playing a brand new song for the first time.
Inside The Black announces new vocalist, Mike Richmond (June 11, 2010)
Hollywood rock band Inside The Black today announced its new vocalist, Mike Richmond. Richmond is a seasoned frontman, having been part of the Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles music scenes for many years. Most recently, he fronted his band Eden Tree.
"Mike is an incredible signer and Inside The Black is proud and excited to have him behind the mic," said Scott Hunter, guitarist for Inside The Black. "He’s got a very powerful and soulful voice. It’s the perfect fit for Inside The Black and we can’t wait until our fans get to hear the new music we’re putting together!"
The new line-up will make its live debut on June 21 at “Rock The Night” at Skinny’s Lounge in Los Angeles, starting at 11:30pm Eastern/10:30pm Central. The show will be broadcast on Internet radio station Radio Reddit (http://radioreddit.com).
The band is currently sharing demos for their upcoming sophomore release on their official blog. While only instrumental versions of the songs have been posted so far, they will soon post demos with Mike on vocals.

Inside The Black announce a rare glimpse into the record-making process (April 21, 2010)
Hollywood rock band Inside The Black today announced plans to involve fans in the entire process of writing and recording their second album, beginning with a blog post of a raw demo.
While fans are accustomed to hearing demos when albums are reissued, they are rarely, if ever, treated to demos as an album is being written. “We plan to show fans everything we go through to write and record this second album. This will include the posting of incomplete song ideas, demos, rehearsals, recording sessions and whatever else that happens that might be insightful and interesting,” said Scott Hunter of Inside The Black.
